Our Stance on Software
All of our software is freely available online, primarily through Github. If you have trouble obtaining any of our source code, please contact us (using the form below).
We believe people have a right to healthy food, and in pursuit of that, we believe that the technology to accomplish this should be free as well. We stand fully behind software freedom. There are 2 caveats to this:
- Raw materials and hardware are not free, nor is the labor of production. Thus, our hardware and business practices, including access to all AOE Greens patents, are not made freely available.
- We primarily use the GNU Affero General Public License in order to promote openness and sharing amongst the food production community. While some may view this as an encroachment on software freedom, we believe it to be in line with our mission.
